Mixed animal opportunity in Loudonville, OH for an energetic, positive, team spirited veterinarian. We are a growing 5 doctor, full service practice in the beautiful rolling hills of “Mohican Country”, looking to hire a full time associate. We are a predominantly bovine and small animal practice (approximately 50% companion animal, 40% bovine, 5% equine and 5% small ruminant, swine and camelids). Our goal is to provide excellent medicine to our patients as well as superior client care. We have a hardworking, knowledgable and fun loving staff of 2 registered veterinary technicians, 6 assistants and 3 receptionists to help us achieve these goals. Our in house diagnostic abilities include CR digital radiography, Abaxis chemistry, CBC and clotting panel/fibrinogen machines in house, incubator for cultures, and microscopy, along with a good working relationship with several outside laboratories. Monitoring equipment and patient warming devices for anesthetized patients assists our technicians with patient safety. Four mobile ultrasound units are used for both farm animal herd work and small animal diagnostics. Our dental unit is equipped for both prophylactic cleaning and extractions. Our large animal haul in facility is where most of our cattle surgeries are done. Each doctor is provided a truck with a fully stocked Bowie unit. Additional equine care services and specialty small animal surgery are areas where we would like to expand. Most of our orthopedic surgical cases are referred, but the opportunity to follow through with these cases is available for the right candidate. Mentorship from coworkers will help you grow and build confidence.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, new graduates welcome to apply. License fees, liability and license defense insurance, OVMA, AVMA, AABP and one other national association dues are paid. Paid vacation time is provided and each associate has scheduled time off during the week. Matching IRA contribution available. Emergency duties are shared equally among the 4 associates. A support staff member is also assigned on a rotating basis to assist the doctor with after hours emergencies.
