Apply data integration expertise across the organization and serve as a resource for resolution of unique or complex data integration problems. Build extensible data acquisition and integration solutions to meet the functional and non-functional requirements of the business. Participate in the development of data integration strategy, necessitating integration of a broad range of ideas for data integration.
Lead the establishment of a Data Integration strategy and methodology for the MyDay program and for the application management process at the university. Provide strategic and operational leadership on data integration architecture, processes, and standards.� Develop, train, and mentor staff to ensure that processes and methodologies are executed in a manner that is repeatable. Incorporate industry tools and technology in to the data integration practice to achieve higher maturity and scale. Continuously evaluate and improve data integration practices and processes to ensure that organization continues to improve and mature as desired and required.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integration Strategy & Leadership:
Responsible for the development of an overall data integration strategy for the MyDay program and Workday to support both current project efforts as well as create sustainable post go-live practices.
Lead the develop of the strategy with other key resources from WashU IT and the MyDay program with a focus on maturity of the integration capabilities and resources.
Accountable to the development and management of an integration technology roadmap that clearly defines each of the key steps and milestones that need to be accomplished to in order ensure that the strategy is achieved.
Develop education and communicate strategy with leadership, application management teams and campus partners.
Manage and adapt strategy to ensure that the needs and goals adapt as the organization matures and new challenges arise.
Serve as the key expert in data integration practice for the organization.
Define and implement an effective, efficient, and robust ongoing support model using the data integration platform.
Document effective support practices for data integration content and ensure completeness of the knowledge base content.
Lead the development and establishment of a data integration methodology and best practices for: Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Ongoing Operations.� Ensure that the methodology is aligned to the strategy and goals of the MyDay program and WashU IT.
Develop, establish and deliver training on integration best practices for project teams, leadership, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and responsibilities.� This will ensure that those who develop and manage integrations will follow the methodology.
Define the roles and responsibilities for integration focused resources with projects and in the organization.
Manage and monitor the methodology to ensure that it is adjusted where appropriate, over time, to continue to meet organizational demands and maturity.
Integration Practice & Communication:
Lead project and organizational team members in the development of plans, development, testing, and execution based on the established methodology.
Perform effort planning to meet organizational demand by partnering with leadership, project managers, and others to evaluate needs.
Lead the development and implementation of complex data integration solutions between applications and platforms, ensuring proper documentation is created.
Lead and direct project teams to update plans, ensure accuracy and consistency, and foster an environment of continual process improvement.
Train and coach team members and other staff to ensure a common process for data integration, established and practiced across the organization.
Mentor and train business analysts, subject matter experts and developers on best practices.� Develop an onboarding and training plan to ensure that this is done consistently.
Develop project health reports based on established metrics to project teams and stakeholders.
Manage and monitor issues report from service delivery team that are escalated to vendors.
Regularly assess growth in demands for improvements.
Serve as the technical escalation focus for data integration support issues and trouble tickets.
Oversee the management of and expansion as necessary of the integration platform, software, and or tools to support data integration.
Evaluate and recommend leading integration technologies that are essential to maintain a highly mature practice.
Develop and implement standards for the maintenance of development and code repositories for the department to ensure consistency.
Work with teams across WashU IT to evaluate and improve the usability of the data integration platform.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, plus 5 years relevant technology experience or equivalent combination of education & experience.
7 years relevant technology experience
Prior experience in a higher education technology environment
Experience in a technical leadership role, including:
Ability to provide technical guidance to all skill levels.
Ability to interact with customers to discuss and recommend alternate technical solutions.
Ability to adjust workload and approach to accommodate shifting project schedules, demands, and requirements.

Experience in expectation setting on process across a large and complex Information Technology organization
5+ years Cloud SaaS based Integration Tool experience (Mulesoft Cloudhub and Data Integration Studio).
Experience leading within large, enterprise-scale, parallel development projects.
Experience designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements.
Extensive experience researching and implementing new technologies in specialty or related areas.
Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Experience defining and leading continual improvement initiatives of internal processes and procedures.
Understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, or client/server systems.
Expert knowledge in XML, SOAP, WSDL, RAML.
Hands-on experience in large scale SOA design, development, and deployment.
Experience with API management technology.
Experience with common enterprise security protocols such as SAML and OAUTH2
Mule Certified Developer – Integration Professional or similar industry certification
Familiarity implementing IT solutions in Higher Education
Ability to quickly comprehend and articulate the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
Understanding of database solutions provided on popular cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
Experience processing and preparing unstructured data for analytics.
The hiring range for this position is $78,874 - $104,499 annually.
