Responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and coordinating of the grants and contract process, both pre-award and post-award, for members of the Nebraska Center for Virology (NCV). Collaborate with administrators, faculty and staff in a consultative manner to ensure proper procedures are followed by both pre- and post-award activities. Coordinate the grant application preparation and submission process, and post-award grant and contract management. Work closely with faculty to develop appropriate applications including budget creation and form preparation. Consult with Principal Investigators (PI's) regarding budget implementation, modifications and financial projections. Manage and review grant activity. Accountable for monitoring grant expenditures to ensure accurate reports relative to budget and compliance to funding restrictions. Serve as liaison between faculty and UNL Administrative offices to ensure proposals adhere to university, federal, state, and agency regulations as well as published time tables and deadlines.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus three years' any combination of project accounting, general accounting or financial reporting experience required. Equivalent education/experience acceptable. Working knowledge of general accounting practices and financial reporting required. Understanding of large integrated financial management systems; and advanced skills in PC-based spreadsheet software programs are essential.
Prefer project accounting experience; working knowledge of budgeting and personnel/payroll; working knowledge of UNL; working knowledge of SAP; skilled with PC-based database software programs; strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; detail oriented and accurate.
