The University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for the position of Enterprise Architect. This position will establish and lead the practice of enterprise architecture for Information Technology Services. The Enterprise Architect develops a strong foundation for excellent service delivery, develops mature processes, and technology transformation; works with all IT functions, customers, and institutional leadership to provide assistance for the implementation of major IT initiatives; champions standards; and helps develop secure, reliable, and scalable solutions; collaborates with researchers, national and global peer communities, and industry leaders to assess technology trends and develop strategies to advance the institution.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Minimum of eight years of technical experience in design, system installations, administration, and or support of critical business systems
Experience building and supporting mission-critical infrastructure for critical applications, running in a highly distributed manner
Project management experience, including the ability to plan and schedule architecture-related projects and monitor their implementation
Training or certification in one or more of the following is preferred: information security (CISSP, SANS, etc.); Service management (ITIL, COBIT, etc.), Process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.), and/or Enterprise architecture (Open Systems, TOGAF, etc.)
Experience with both Agile/Scrum and traditional waterfall software development lifecycle
Experience with security concepts and standards, such as OAuth, SAML, Shibboleth, PCI DSS, PII, encryption, and tokenization
Experience with network architecture principles and concepts, including tiering, segmentation, DMZs, firewalls, load-balancing, failover, and disaster recovery
Domain experience in multiple areas of enterprise technology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) :
Knowledge of distributed systems to mainframe and client/server applications
Knowledge of IT governance and operations
Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
Interpersonal and leadership skills – collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills

Project and program management planning and organizational skills
Customer service orientation and skills
