Collects, processes, interprets, reports, and maintains data to meet the needs of Academic Affairs and the University. The scope of work encompasses strengthening the infrastructure in Academic Affairs and ability to plan strategically through technology and systems, project management, data analytics, and business process analysis. Reporting to the Provost, the position is part of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and works closely with various members of Academic Affairs and University department's integral to operational efficiencies. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Faculty Contract Coordinator SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Provost/Vice President Academic Affairs EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Creates cross-functional process and systems improvements, upgrades, and implementations in support of Academic Affairs mission:
- Collaborates with constituents across campus to improve efficiencies through the effective use of campus systems and access to data.
- Supports the University's systems functionality, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Banner), student retention and communication system (Starfish) and reporting tool (Argos). Works in conjunction with others throughout the University to ensure cohesiveness throughout the university ERP system and other integrated systems.
- Creates Argos reports and queries using PL/SQL programming language for internal university constituents.
- Collaborates with Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure the integrity of the university ERP system.
- Provides data support to faculty, program coordinators, chairs, and deans in the processes of academic program operations and planning.
- Provides Academic Affairs users with individualized support along with user guidelines when necessary (Banner, Argos, Starfish, etc.).
- Work collaboratively with the offices of Institutional Research, Assessment, Student Success, and Registrar to develop reports and provide data analytics to university constituents.
- Applies knowledge and experience with Banner to extract data to determine how the system stores data and how Banner can best be utilized to improve operational efficiencies or extracts to other Academic Affairs systems.
- Represents the interests of Academic Affairs on cross-functional committees and other committees as needed.
- Understands and follows guidelines mandated in faculty union collective bargaining agreements (CBA). Includes hands-on data entry, data integrity reviews and corrections, and extraction and manipulation of data to provide mandatory 15% requirement reports, Alternative Professional Responsibility (APR) reporting, department chair release eligibility and additional reports required by the union.
- Supervises the Faculty Contract Coordinator and assists with, as necessary:
- On boarding, contract, and payroll notification processed for part-time faculty as well as all Graduate Studies and Continuing Education program coordinators and advisors.
- Processing of and maintaining full-time faculty workload and accumulated course release.
- Online course evaluation process for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.
- Contract and payroll for program coordinators, program advisors, and lab coordinators.
- Performs other duties as required by the Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs.
- Ensures that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility.
- Designated as responsible employee under Title IX.

Requirements: Required knowledge, skills and abilities - Expert knowledge in Ellucian Banner, data extraction from a database using PL/SQL or the report writing tool Argos, and MS-EXCEL.
- Proven ability to analyze and manage large complex data sets.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; ability to work and contribute in a teamwork environment.
- Comfort and flexibility with independent learning of software and online tools.
Additional knowledge, skills and abilities preferred - Business process analyst certification or experience with documenting and conducting BPA/R.
- Experience with Project Management tools (MsProject, TeamDynamix, etc.)
Minimum Education and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree and 5 year's applicable experience
- Previous work in higher education preferred
Additional Information: This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit. The salary range is $65,500 - 90,000 commensurate with education and experience.
