Application Review Date The First Review Date for this job is: November 28, 2019 Departmental Overview The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is charged with providing an equitable opportunity for every applicant to obtain admission to the University. The department must operate in a professional manner that ensures positive staff morale, values hard work and dedication, and in which staff communicate and collaborate effectively. Furthermore it must also present a coordinated effort to standardize procedures, document best practices, offer a variety of methods for professional development, as well as providing first-class customer service. Responsibilities Overview: Using skills as a seasoned, experienced recruitment and/or admissions professional, identifies potential students, provides information, and ensures good relationships with the public and institutions and organizations involved in outreach/recruitment AND/OR independently reviews applications for admission, using professional judgment in determining whether applicant meets the requirements for admission, making exceptions to admissions requirements, and taking into account a variety of requirements. Recommends improvements/modifications to the assigned program(s). Serve as liaison to international communities on the Berkeley campus; take special steps to sensitize and enlighten OUA staff to the special interests and needs of this population; act as the primary point person in determining and conducting outreach and yield efforts for these populations in assigned territory; determine what support groups and systems are available outside of Berkeley in helping to identify and prepare students from these groups for college admission in general and Berkeley in particular, and develop and deepen relationships with these groups; propose, plan and execute travel in support of the outreach and yield efforts for these groups. Salary & Benefits This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range $67,000.00 - $73,000.00. Other Information This is a full-time (40-hours per week), career position.
