Essential Functions: Assist in the day to day duties of the Biobanking and Correlative Sciences Core including data management, consenting participants, biospecimen processing, and benchwork.Less than 40% of the position time is spent on Isolating Plasma and, PBMCs and RNA from whole blood and bone marrow for the biobank.Less than 40% of the position time is spent performing basic histology techniques, including paraffin embedding of tissue, tissue sectioning, and immunohistochemistry.Maintain accurate research logs and paperwork.Work with a team on large multi-part research projects.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biology or Biological Sciences required for Research Assistant.PhD in Biology or Biological Sciences required for Research Associate.Previous work experience in project management, laboratory information, research or clinic operations required.Must be able to maintain accurate research records for quality control and study participant data reporting.Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must have excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
