The Student Outreach Assistant in the Online Learning Office will have a focus on student retention. The assistant will perform outreach efforts generally through phone and mail to current students. This position will include working with some digital content, special projects and routine office functions.
The following are typical responsibilities associated with this position. The specific responsibilities may vary and will be assigned accordingly by the supervisor.
Phone calls to new online students
Outreach to various groups of students
Assist with mailings
Assist with open house activities
Participate in and monitor Online Learning student spaces
Assist in the development of Online Learning student tips videos
Tutor students through Blackboard issues
Coverage of front desk and answering phones when needed
Customer service oriented
Excellent phone skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
Experience with video creation is helpful, but not required
Knowledge of Online courses is not required, but a willingness to learn is
Dependable and professional
Schedule will be determined based on class schedule
