Description HDR is seeking an Aviation Engineer to join our Transportation team in Nebraska or Iowa. This position provides an opportunity to advance your career in aviation by working with experienced professionals on a diverse range of projects both locally and around the world. Workload to include projects for both airport and Department of Defense (DoD) clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in aviation and civil engineering and experience managing multi-discipline teams. Candidate must be capable of leading civil engineering tasks supporting aviation projects including Construction Safety & Phasing Plans, Geometric Layout, Pavement Design & Rehabilitation, Stormwater Management, Utilities, Grading & Earthwork, Airport Planning, Airspace Evaluation, Cost Estimating, Specification Editing, Construction Administration, and other related tasks. Intermediate to advanced skills using AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure; Four years minimum transportation engineering design experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D; Detailed knowledge of FAA and/or Department of Defense (DoD) airfield design standards; Capability to lead civil engineering tasks and manage multi-disciplinary teams; Motivated to advance career in aviation and grow HDR’s aviation practice; Excellent oral and written communication skills An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
