The Assistant Director, Annual giving will be part of a team responsible for raising expendable gifts of less than $100,000. Kellogg has ambitious annual giving goals, and the Assistant Director will be tasked with increasing the participation rate of -- and total dollars given by – specific Reunion classes and alumni segments. To achieve goals, the Assistant Director will recruit, train, manage and steward Reunion volunteers with an emphasis on gift solicitation. The position also coordinates leadership annual giving, prospect cultivation, solicitation, and recognition for particular alumni segments. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Annual Giving.
Note: Occasional weekend and late hours will be needed during peak times.
Manage assigned Reunion classes to deliver against participation goals, leadership annual giving goals, and total dollar goals. To accomplish these goals, the Assistant Director will recruit, train, and manage the work-flow and prospect lists of 25+ volunteers annually; identify, research, and solicit prospects for leadership annual giving; coordinate volunteer strategies with other Advancement staff.
Monitor incoming gifts pledges and ensure proper stewardship and pledge follow-up occurs. Assist with the coordination of pledge fulfillment process.
Assist in developing the overall Reunion giving communication strategy and solicitation approach for direct mail, email, phonathons, and volunteer structure and training program.
Manage special projects as assigned or required.

A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired.
3-5 years' experience in annual fundraising, preferably in an educational setting.
Direct experience with volunteer management.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Demonstrated success managing volunteers in annual giving and fund-raising campaigns.
Advance knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Ability to master evolving software applications required to retrieve, organize and research donor prospect information.
Excellent communication skills, including strong writing and presentation skills.
Outstanding organizational, operational and project management skills.
Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
