Job Title: Intermediate Auditor Location: Geisinger Office Building I Department: Finance Work Schedule: Days Work Type: Full Time Job Summary: Conducts the examinations and evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's system of internal control and the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities as defined in the Internal Audit Charter. Focuses on financial, operational or compliance audit engagements or special projects throughout Geisinger. Assists with advisory and consulting services throughout the organization to aid in increased effectiveness and efficiency of business operations. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction. Reports directly to the Audit Manager or Audit Director and works in close cooperation with other members of the Internal Audit Department. Provides guidance and supervision on an engagement basis to Associate Auditors. Supervises and reviews work completed and conducted by Associate Auditors. Competencies and Skills: Demonstrates ability to navigate a complex industry to assist with formulating audit objectives, risks and test procedures based on research completed. Demonstrates ability to conduct and document assessments of the current state of business processes to identify potential improvements. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills (oral/written communication, team building, relationship management) within the team environment and with peers throughout the organization. Possesses a proficient understanding of applicable controls frameworks and standard internal controls. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with other professionals, internal and external to the organization. Demonstrates ability to function independently and fosters project ownership and accountability. Demonstrates the ability to work across multiple platforms and adapts quickly to changing demands/regulations. Demonstrates a strong ability to problem solve within a team environment to assist management with process improvements/changes using root cause analysis. Demonstrates proficient understanding and execution of data analytics tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, ACL). Education and or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Management, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field required. Minimum of two years of internal/external auditing, project management, accounting, healthcare management, or related experience required. Internal/External audit or healthcare experience preferred. Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Lean, Six Sigma or other advanced trainings and education preferred.
