The Educational Psychology and Educational Technology program at Michigan State University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with us to design, implement, and examine how a we can bring computer science (CS) and computational thinking (CT) to K-12 classroom. The work will focus on working with K-12 teachers to integrate CS and CT in their classrooms using culturally responsive pedagogies. As a part of this work, we plan to study teacher learning as well as student outcomes (such as, identity and belongingness in computing). The postdoc will work with Dr. Aman Yadav, who has expertise in computer science education and teacher professional learning. The postdoc will work collaboratively with research team at MSU.
A doctorate degree in educational technology, learning sciences, teacher education or a related field.
Knowledge of mixed methods research and/or teacher professional learning and professional development.
Demonstrate research experience relevant to computer science education and/or teacher professional development
Demonstrate experience working with K-12 teachers/schools in the U.S.
Excellent project management skills
It is not expected that all candidates will have all of these areas of expertise and thus we encourage applicants with at least one or more of these desired qualifications to apply.
