The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling the OHSU Health System to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.
This position is responsible for performance that promotes excellent customer service, overall service excellence philosophy and success of the IT Healthcare Mission. This position as Manager, Healthcare Technical Services (HCTS), is responsible for management, coordination and implementation of technical and infrastructure areas of Healthcare Applications infrastructure including, but not limited to: Server Hardware, Client Hardware, Environment Maintenance, Interfaces (Inbound and Outbound), Networking, and database support for the Epic Cache environment. The HCTS manager acts a primary liaison with the ITG Technology Infrastructure Design & Engineering (TIDE) Division to ensure that technical infrastructure needs are being met for the OHSU Healthcare System. Provides team leadership, mentoring and helping staff succeed. Advocates for and delivers outstanding customer service, both personally and through the department.
Five years or more paid work experience as a Project Leader managing and implementing information system projects.
Must have ten years of cumulative paid working experience in the information technology field; -- OR --
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associates degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
One year of relevant paid work experience may be substituted for two years of graduate study in information systems or related field.
Successful candidates must show that they have significant organizational skills and can lead projects from conception, schedule, design, testing, through implementation.
Working knowledge of project management.
At least four years experience in Healthcare Information Systems analysis, development and implementation. An additional two years of relevant experience can be substituted for the Bachelors degree.
Must have experience working in a clinical setting, preferably a large, complex medical center.

Proven Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships, especially working in stressful environments with competing priorities and multiple demands
Experience in complex technology environments, including hands-on experience
Experience with workflow documentation and process and/or practice redesign.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems.
Must have demonstrated, excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person.
Must possess energy and drive to work successfully on large, complex projects with short timeframes.
Knowledge of development life-cycle and production environment procedures.
Effective leadership of highly-skilled, technical personnel in overseeing the development and implementation of applications technology.
Experience implementing technology that enabled fundamental changes in clinical practice.
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
Prior management experience in a large, tertiary academic medical center.
Vendor Contract review and execution experience
Working knowledge of ITIL

Expert knowledge in information technology applications (database applications, application administration, programming languages).
Knowledge of large, tertiary academic medical center operations and dynamics.
Knowledge of quality management and performance improvement techniques as it related to healthcare.
Epic certification in ECSA
Working knowledge of tools used by HCTS team.
