The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is a hands-on, data-driven, digital-savvy, highly organized and strong communicator to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Brand Strategy division, providing organizational and administrative support to the vice president and the entire division as a work unit. This position requires the ability to plan, think independently and adapt to the needs of a fast-paced professional environment. The Coordinator is expected to stay abreast of division developments and the division’s priorities and activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Coordinate and monitor current projects and work assignments for the vice president and other department staff to ensure timely completion of all tasks. Proactively track due dates and follow-up as appropriate.
Maximizing the efficiency of the vice president by managing his day-to-day workflow and correspondence, including: coordinating task management, owning organization of their calendars, drafting and tracking online correspondence, arranging calls, planning business travel, processing expenses and reimbursements, and assisting with research projects.
Serve as the day-to-day digital manager for the vice president, assisting with social media and digital communications.
Provide data and metric tracking insights on select NAM communications products, and support the division’s use of metrics to advance the organization’s business objectives.
Transcribing various meeting notes and tracking next steps.
Researching, copy writing and editing support for the Input newsletter and other communications projects as assigned.
Providing research assistance for substantive policy materials, letters, speeches, memos and other advocacy materials (by accessing government, business and organization Web sites or other sources).
Planning and handling all arrangements for division meetings, receptions, and conferences.
Supporting the NAM’s photography program, including with gallery maintenance and research.
Ensure excellence in all communication from the vice president and the department including e-mail, hard-copy correspondence and memos, briefing information and other materials. Provide assistance in research, writing, editing and distribution- including meeting minutes, member follow-up correspondence and relevant summaries. Review and proof select publications, documents and materials for public viewing, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness and compliance with NAM publishing/document guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education and/or college-level coursework and previous administrative experience.
Experience that demonstrates excellent writing, proofing, editing, research and project-management skills.
Basic knowledge of business and American government.
Ability to work flexibly with a broad cross-section of the organization.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Digital publishing experience a plus.
Media relations experience a plus.
