The role assists project managers in design and development of preliminary and final design plans for a variety of civil projects including highway design, street, storm water drainage, water and wastewater system and traffic design. Candidates should be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads applications. Responsibilities: - Assist project managers in design plans of street, storm water drainage, water and wastewater systems, and highway and traffic design.
- Learn to develop and produce conceptual, preliminary and final roadway and highway design drawings.
- Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make corrections to drawings as requested by project managers.
- Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as needed.
- Interface with cities and counties regarding projects if needed.
- Attend project meetings and prepare graphic materials for presentations and/or documents.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment with engineers and architects for timely project completion.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and OpenRoads applications
- EIT Certification a plus
- Proficient in HCM, Synchro and Vissim traffic simulation models is a plus
- Previous civil engineering design experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and CivilStorm Drainage software a plus
- Demonstrates attributes of initiative, resourcefulness and commitment
- Works well in a collaborative open office environment and communicates well with team member
