Drew University is seeking a full-time Technical Director to provide oversight of multiple production seasons in three on-campus venues. This is a 12-month position.
Constructing or sourcing scenery for department productions
Coordinating build/hang schedules
Maintenance of scene shop
Theatre facilities and equipment
Supervision of shop supervisor and student technical staff
Coordinating with costume shop supervisor on supply purchases
Acting as liaison between the department and the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey
Overseeing summer residency in the Dorothy Young Center
Supervising students in immersive experiences as part of Drew University’s launch program
General knowledge of latest equipment
Practice in lighting, props, sound and set construction
The ideal candidate should have professional technical theatre credits and experience working with students of varying ability.
