The Senior Business Analyst performs business analysis and conceptual solution design on highly complex interdependent strategic projects and programs across the growing and continuously changing central IT organization. Collaborates with leaders, subject matter experts, end users and technical staff to identify and understand strategic business needs, design possible solutions and help implement and transition chosen solutions. Elicits and documents business requirements and creates appropriate business analysis documentation artifacts for both technical and non-technical audiences. Leads functional methodology and practice continuous improvement efforts. The successful candidate must demonstrate consistently driven successful results across numerous complex and specialized initiatives while earning and maintaining the respect and trust of colleagues ranging from individual contributors to senior executives.
Duties include: 1.Business Analysis – Conducts in-depth business analysis on strategic projects including but not limited to: SWOT analysis, cost benefit analysis, return on investment, feature/gap analysis, feasibility analysis, and business case development. Facilitates planning and organizing hardware and software vendor RFI’s and RFP’s. Develops and documents test plans. Ensures testing strategies involve appropriate integration and process components. Assists client with executing the test plans and providing sign-off to project manager. 2.Solution Analysis and Design – Analyzes highly complex IT project proposals, providing strategic guidance and insight for projects that are mission or business critical. Develops and maintains productive working relationships with sponsors, managers, vendors and team members. Conducts discovery meetings with clients. Facilitates architectural design. Researches technical solutions, consults with peer institutions and conducts vendor discovery and reference checks. Develops and documents functional and technical requirements working with IT professionals, subject matter experts, and clients. Negotiates requirements across stakeholder teams and design alternative solutions. Works with IT resource managers and service owners to estimate effort and costs of alternatives. Summarizes and presents alternative solutions, associated costs and recommendations to decision makers ranging up to senior executives. 3.Functional Leadership – Provides thought leadership for business analysis principles, methodology, services, and tools. Leads development of processes and knowledge management for function. Leads customer interviews and other methods of measurement to report metrics and conducts change management for functional improvements. Leads troubleshooting efforts on roadblocks in support of team members. Mentors less experienced team members. 4.Other Duties as Assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and work experience) - Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree - IIBACBAP or PMIPBA Certification
