End Date(if applicable): 1/1/2021 Job Description: The College Position Summary The Manager of the Mid-Ohio Market implements and directs all program administration for the College relating to the program, which is intended to support the health and well-being of financially disadvantaged students and community members in the Central Ohio area, in partnership with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. This position will develop and coordinate all program components inclusive of supervising staff and ensuring high quality partnership within the College as well as with community partners. Core Competencies Required Professionalism, Managing Work Continuous Improvement, Customer/Student/Employee Focus, Collaboration, Leadership, Managing People, Creating an Inclusive Environment, Operational Decision Making, Adaptability, Communication, Cultivating Networks and Partnerships, Strategic Planning, Entrepreneurship and Energizing the Organization ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Student Success and Community Building Under the direction of the Executive Dean, works to understand the student support services and specifically Mid-Ohio Market impact, and essential value to key stakeholders (including students, business partners, and the community at large) and develops program services to advance the College. In collaboration with College leadership and community partners, leads the program in service to students and community members in part to reinforce good public relations outcomes and support holistic wellbeing of the College's student populace. Understands the needs of key audiences and the College's desired outcomes for each, identifies program adaptations and improvements for the institution. Leadership In alignment with the College's strategic plan and College Completion Plan, provides strategic leadership for student financial security and economic mobility. Supervises assigned area of responsibility and staff by recruiting and hiring, developing work schedules, assigning and delegating tasks, providing direction, resolving work problems, communicating job expectations, training employees, and developing professional growth opportunities. Conducts annual employee evaluations, provides ongoing feedback and coaching, and effectively recommends pay increases, promotions and other personnel actions. Approves leaves and authorizes overtime as appropriate. Administers disciplinary actions upon approval and in collaboration with Human Resources. Interprets, explains, carries out and enforces the College's policies. Fiscal and Administration Assists with budget planning and pursuing program funding opportunities as necessary. Monitors program spending and adherence to grant requirements. Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation including contract and notes report, status reports, staffing reports, budget information, and other data. Maintains confidentiality of student records, and maintains personnel files, financial data, and other sensitive information. Program Planning and Event Management Delivers individual and group services, presentations, and other programming in-person and online. Coordinates program logistics, including content, volunteers, staffing, scheduling, product replenishments, and manages other program details. Other Duties as Required Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity and meets tight timelines and deadlines with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Usual Physical Requirements While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee regularly stands and walks for extended periods of time, and occasionally sits. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Employee occasionally reaches with hands or arms, climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts or exerts force of up to 25 pounds when moving files, boxes and other materials. With multiple conference spaces as well as meetings across the campus, employee regularly walks outside to other buildings. Working Conditions Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. Must travel to various Columbus State campuses and sites as well as offsite venues. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: management principles and practices; budget management; program practices, standards, and administration; best practices in the promotion of higher education student support services to key stakeholders, including prospective students and their influencers. Skill in: problem solving and decision making; effective teamwork and interpersonal relations; data collection and research methods; both written and verbal communication; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; problem analysis and resolution; basic principles and techniques of policy development; public speaking; program and event planning; organizing resources and establishing priorities; communicating effectively within a diverse community. Ability to: apply management principles to practical situations within a single department or functional area; manage and accomplish results through delegation of accountability and responsibility to management staff; maintain confidential and sensitive information; develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; work with and effectively manage persons of varying cultures and diversity. Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or closely related field or five (5) to seven (7) years' of professional related experience inclusive of supervising professional staff members; Bachelor's in Degree Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, or closely related field or at least three (3) years of professional related experience inclusive of supervising professional staff members. *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
