The Communications Administrator provides a wide range of high-level logistics oversight for the Communications (COMM) and Multimedia Resources (MMR) teams, including the Chief Communications Officer (CCO), the Director of Scientific Communications and Media Relations (DSCMR) and the Director of Digital and Graphic Communications (DDGC).
Incumbent provides complex administrative and event support, including but not limited to drafting and editing of various written communications, tracking and ensuring that all unit activities are completed in a timely and professional manner, administering monthly budget reconciliation, managing special events as assigned and interacting with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership, senior management and faculty, board members, major donors and members of the community. Serves as liaison to the Presidentâ™s Office for Communications Office scheduling and planning. Exercises high level of finesse and discretion when communicating with internal and community contacts and when dealing with confidential, sensitive information. Demonstrates a high degree of tact, diplomacy, judgment and political sensitivity in all communications. Assists with evening and weekend events/programs, as needed.
Bachelorâ™s degree in relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be willing to work in an animal-related research environment.
Satisfactory completion of the Instituteâ™s background investigation.
Will require occasional evenings and weekends to assist with events.
Must be willing to sign an employee confidentiality agreement.
