EHSI has an immediate need for a Project Manager in its Technical Support Services Group in our Seattle, Washington office. This individual will perform, coordinate and lead field investigations involving regulated building materials and industrial hygiene services, as well as marketing for future opportunities. Investigations include studies concerning regulatory compliance and compliance audits; asbestos and lead-based paint surveys; preparing abatement design documents and monitoring hazardous material abatement; site characterizations; and environmental sampling of air, soil, sediments, and water for organic and inorganic contaminants.
Individual must be capable of supervising and coordinating technical personnel to complete projects on schedule and within billable time objectives.
a) Manage, coordinate, and supervise field investigations involving regulated building material investigations, including studies concerning regulatory research and compliance audits; asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and preparation of abatement design documents; site characterizations; and environmental sampling of air, soil, sediments, and water for organic and inorganic contaminants.
b) Supervising and coordinating technical personnel to complete projects on schedule and within billable time objectives. Supervise technical staff in preparing field reports, CADD drawings, and project documentation in accordance with employer’s standard operating procedures and project requirements.
c) Provide technical quality control review of work products produced by technical staff.
d) Manage and coordinate certification, medical monitoring, personal protective equipment, and technical training programs of employer.
e) Perform, proposal preparation, and management functions to successfully pursue and perform environmental consulting; industrial hygiene; and “turn key” environmental construction, demolition, and abatement projects in accordance with employer’s project management procedures.
f) Manage medium and large value projects with budgets and programs agreed to with the Project Director to deliver appropriate client solutions.
g) Deliver high-quality technical output in a timely manner, to specification and within defined time allocations.
h) Keep up-to-date with market and technical developments and recommend potential improvements within EHSI accordingly.
The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in managing, project supervision, health/safety consulting, and compliance assessments.
Experience with asbestos and lead-based paint inspections is required, as is experience with abatement design specifications.
BS degree in a related field is mandatory.
Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of EPA AHERA and Washington State asbestos regulations and protocols are mandatory.
AHERA certifications for inspector and project designer are a plus.
Previous experience in supervision and development of staff is preferred.
Ability to provide asbestos, lead, and other health/safety training is a plus.
The ability to support Business Development activities is a plus.
Candidate will be expected to travel out of state and work off shifts (ie: swing shifts) periodically.
