This position is located in Marina del Rey, CA Information Sciences Institute (ISI) seeks an Application Engineer to join The MOSIS Service team. Applicants selected for this position will require access to ITAR materials. According to U.S. government restrictions, ONLY U.S. citizens OR lawful permanent residents (green card) are eligible for ITAR access. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Support customers to achieve the design to tapeout process. Perform tasks based on foundryâs plan-on-record process specifications and design enablement to ensure accurate and efficient closures of customerâs design flows. Perform tasks based on foundryâs Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) reticle technology requirements to achieve successful tapeouts.
- Support physical design tool flows such as Placement and Route, RC Extraction, Static Timing Analysis, Power Analysis and Optimization, EM/IR, ESD, and ECO.
- Support tasks and flows of PDK (digital, analog, and RF), foundry IP, custom layout, circuit simulation, physical verification (DRC and LVS), DFM, and MPW reticle data preparation.
- Participate in initiating and developing innovative flows, including EDA tools, computer programs, and other capabilities to enhance the quality of work. Identify the need and specifications of custom software flows (such as custom and predictive rule check, custom fill, etc.), to support customers and MOSIS to reduce cycle times of tapeout sign-off.
- Attend and participate in foundry training sessions, EDA training sessions, conferences and seminars as requested or needed. Keep current and maintain high expertise with the latest foundry plan-on-record PDK and collaterals, and the industry advancement as well. Represent the university and/or unit, as assigned or appropriate.
