The Network Engineer II's primary responsibility is to provide design, configuration, implementation, installation, and support of the Harris Health System Network. The Network Engineer II works tickets, configures, deploys, tests, and troubleshoots all network devices.
Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent professional IT experience.
CCNA is required, CCNP is Preferred.
Written and communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able manage, prioritize, and complete tickets and projects with little or no supervision.
Excellent understanding of Cisco network technologies and hands on experience with these technologies is required.
4-5 years of experience in relevant fields of network engineering/implementation
Excellent technical skills on networks, primarily related to Cisco routing, switching, security, and wireless LAN products to include Catalyst and Nexus family of products, wireless LAN controllers, ASA firewalls/VPNs.
Experience with MS Project is desirable
4+ years of experience in of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers.
5+ years of experience in LAN/WAN network engineering.
Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP IPv4/IPv6, L2/L3, SNMP, network monitors and protocol analyzers.
Hands on experience with Cisco 3500, 3700, 4500, and 6500 series switches
Nexus OTV experience a plus
Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting EIGRP, MPLS, BGP(eBGP/iBGP), QoS, VSS, and multicast.
Deployment experience with wireless and VoIP environments a plus.
Perl scripting a plus
3+ years experience with firewalls and VPN.
Equipment Operated: All Cisco Hardware (Extensive hands on with Cisco 3500, 3700, 4500, and 6500 series switches, Firewalls, and VPNs)

TYPICAL DUTIES THAT MAY BE PERFORMED:
* Provide technical leadership for projects includes project management of internal projects. * Provide executive and technical-level communications, relationship building to gain credibility of customers. * Consult, assess or audit, design and interview customers to determine highly technical requirements. * Perform analysis of the networking problems as well as provide highest-level crisis management. * Triage complex network issues and perform detailed root cause analysis. * Partake in design reviews for proposed architectures. * Demonstrate good level of knowledge of network topologies. * Design, configure, test, and implement changes to the network are made with minimal down-time. * Follow proper Change Control process in which to implement changes. * Engineers, configures, and leads the design, configuration and deployment of data networks. * Assists clients in the daily maintenance of voice and data network infrastructure including LAN, MAN, WAN, WiFi, VoIP, and Firewalls. * Serves as resources for tier 2 and/or tier 3 trouble tickets. * Utilize network-monitoring tools to proactively resolve issues and to ensure that all network devices are operating in an optimal manner. * Review network utilization statistics to verify that circuits and connections are properly sized. * Provide historical reports to management on an ongoing basis. * Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals. * Rotate on-call with the team. * Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.
