The Executive Director is responsible for overall administrative leadership and operational oversight for the Walnut Creek Campus including the Ambulatory Surgery Department, Subspecialty Clinics in Walnut Creek, Brentwood, San Ramon and Alameda Juvenile Justice Center, as well as related services such as Audiology, and Speech Therapy. The incumbent is a visionary leader who partners with medical staff leadership to deliver high value and market competitive pediatric ambulatory services.
This position works in partnership with medical staff leadership and has a matrix reporting relationship to the VP of Ambulatory Services and the Chief Nursing Officer. This position works closely with the BCHO Director of Perioperative Services and supports a matrix reporting relationship with the Coordinator for Ambulatory Surgery and the Director of Perioperative Services to ensure continuity of services across the Surgical Services continuum. Other close working relationships include the Directors for Diagnostic Imaging and Clinical Lab to ensure these services are well coordinated at the Walnut Creek Campus
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration or related field required. Master's Degree in business, health care administration or a related field preferred in a health related field. Experience in lieu of Master's degree will be considered.
Minimum Experience: At least 7 years of progressive management experience preferably in an outpatient surgical setting serving pediatric patients.
License Required: Current California RN license preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Significant knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry. Advanced communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills including ability to define priorities provide clear direction and to work effectively with physicians and other team members. Experience in financial planning, program development and project management preferred. Understanding legal and professional context in which ambulatory care is provided. Strong knowledge of the information technology requirements critical to maximize revenue management and clinic flow.
Technical Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EPIC preferred).
