Huitt-Zollars' Downtown Houston, TX office has a dynamic full-time opportunity for a Structural Engineer licensed in Texas. This role will work collaboratively with multi-discipline project teams on complex building projects. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of building structural engineering experience in mid to high-rise building design including post-tensioned concrete, two-way flat plate and one-way slabs, composite deck on steel framing, concrete pan joist, multi-story framing, concrete tilt wall, deep foundations and masonry. - Work on projects for other HZ offices in various states and coordinate structural efforts between different offices.
- Design and analyze structural systems for low to high-rise buildings.
- Attend regular project meetings internally with design teams and externally with clients.
- Manage projects including creating staff plans, monitoring project budgets and personnel time.
- Conduct business development including networking events, proposal preparation and/or review, and project completion estimates.
- Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration process.
Requirements: - SE (Structural Engineer) or PE (Professional Engineer) registered in Texas
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Structural Building design of mid to high-rise buildings
- Passionate about structural design of buildings and self-motivated
- Experience with construction administration and managing design teams
- Excellent working knowledge of Building Analysis and Design Software for concrete, steel and wood
- Proficient in RISA, RAM, ADAPT and REVIT software
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Ability to interact with clients and work collaboratively with multi-discipline team members
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
