Reporting to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, the Communications Manager, to ensure consistency with Syracuse University’s positioning, creates, edits and proofs original content for publication across the School of Information Studies’ print and digital channels and is chiefly responsible for supporting the Division of Marketing and Communication’s media relations team’s earned media strategy specific to the School of Information Studies. The Communications Manager will work with the media relations team to identify newsworthy pitch angles and liaise to schedule interviews and bring opportunities to completion. This individual will also create and share stories about the iSchool and the accomplishments of faculty, students and alumni worldwide in coordination with Marketing and Communications Content and Communications teams. In addition, the Communications Manager collaborates with Syracuse University’s Division of Marketing and Communications to advance its marketing and communications University wide goals.
