The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Scientist for the Department of Basic Research Administration in the UPMC Hillman Cancer Institute.
This is a high gain/reward position for a talented and also independently thinking individual who enjoys working in a team with a clear mission to improve therapy and outcomes for our brain cancer patients. There is the opportunity to pursue and lead various cancer and stem cell-related research projects on the basic, translational, and clinical science level and coordinate/lead gra nt and paper writing.

This job requires the applicant to have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunobiology or oncolytic virus biology and having expert knowledge in cancer biology, preferable brain cancer, and basic molecular biology techniques/cell culture.
Requires strong written and oral communication skills. At least 5 years of laboratory experience in biochemistry, molecular cancer genetics, immunology, or other related fields plus three (3) years of cell culture experience with preferably some experience in iPS/Stem cell work.
A competitive candidate will also need excellent paper/grant writing and project planning/execution skills. Most importantly we are looking for a multi-tasking, well integrating, hard-working, and highly motivated scientist who is excited to be working in a fast-paced basic and translational laboratory setting in an equally highly motivated team of cancer researchers, neurosurgical residents and medical students from various backgrounds and high level of diversity.

Hiring Range: $46,644.00 - $76,440.00
