Responsibilities include training, facilitation, employment counseling, placement and ongoing support to high school students ages 14-18. Work closely with school leaders, teachers, employers and community partners. Provide post-secondary planning support to students, develop employment plans and provide case management services to job seekers. Conduct job training workshops, and job retention tracking and follow-up.
Post-secondary degree or credential preferred
At least 2 years of experience working in youth development
Experience training, coaching, and/or teaching
Understanding of employment training or workforce development-based program preferred
Project Management experience highly desirable
Provide career planning, case management and job placement support to participating high school students using training modules, career assessment tools and current labor market information
Work with senior students to ensure post-secondary plans are in place
Lead job-readiness and employment skills workshops
Develop individualized employment and goal plans for participants, assisting them to achieve career and employment goals related to their skills, interests and abilities.
Manage caseload of students and support transition to post-secondary paths.
Enter data into YJC Client Management System database
With YJC Employer and Partner Relations staff, cultivate and engage employer partners
Host and organize hiring events at the high school and in the community
With School staff, identify students who can benefit from YJC support and proactively work to engage them in programs.
Participate in outreach activities to area agencies and schools
Other duties as assigned

Proficiency with computer technology, including database management
Ability to multi-task with multiple assignments and competing priorities
Flexibility with evening and weekend hours required at times
Bi-lingual (Spanish) required
