The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing the GenoVA Study, a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded clinical trial of genomic testing for disease susceptibility at Harvard Medical School at Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System (VABHS). The candidate performs high-level research duties for this study, which is recruiting participants across eight VABHS sites. The PM performs research- related tasks under the supervision of the study Principal Investigator (PI).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the daily operations of The GenoVA Study, escalating research-related queries to the PI when appropriate
Perform participant recruitment tasks such as initial eligibility screening, preparing and distributing recruitment materials, and obtaining informed consent
Interact with patients and VABHS laboratory staff to facilitate participant blood draws and specimen collection
Work with the Partners Healthcare Laboratory for Molecular Medicine (LMM) to ship and track patient specimens through the phases of collection, genotyping, and return of results to patients and primary care providers (PCPs)
Assist in the creation and maintenance of patient tracking and data collection systems
Administer baseline and end-of-study participant surveys
Prepare study letters and accompanying materials for patients and PCPs
Interact with VABHS clinical applications staff to facilitate entry of genetic test results into patient medical records
Facilitate the distribution of participation incentives
Assist in the drafting and formatting of IRB and other documents for the purposes of maintaining study approvals, including protocol amendments, continuing reviews, and other regulatory requirements as necessary
Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Prepare materials for project meetings with the PI, local study staff, and other collaborators
Assist in the preparation and delivery of project reports
Prepare literature reviews
Assist in the creation and formatting of data tables and figures for research posters and presentations
Contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts
Perform all other duties/responsibilities as needed by the PI
This is a term position supported by a grant that ends on June 30, 2024, with strong potential for renewal.

College degree and one year of relevant work experience required, preferably in the field of the specific research study (relevant coursework may count towards experience)
Master's degree in health sciences-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, public health, biostatistics/epidemiology, psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Two or more years of experience in clinical research or direct patient contact is preferred
VA experience preferred
Computer literacy: Adobe, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; working knowledge of a programming language or statistical packages such as SQL, SAS, Stata, SPSS, R, Python, or Java is preferred
