FACILITIES ADMINISTRATOR , MIT Libraries , to manage facilities, maintenance, and support of library spaces across multiple campus locations and participate in planning and renovation initiatives. Will manage repair and maintenance services for library spaces, escalating issues through the MIT Facilities and external vendor/contractor hierarchies as needed; serve as primary contact and gatekeeper for access to library facilities and first point of contact to MIT's Emergency Management, Parking and Transportation, and Environment, Health and Safety offices; act as liaison to vendors and service providers; represent the Libraries and possibly lead on relevant space-related project teams; function as an internal project manager for logistical support on space projects, helping to set and communicate expectations and collaborating with MIT Facilities' project managers; assist with short-term space planning and allocation and support and participate in the development of program needs and long-term space planning; coordinate and facilitate office moves and installations of equipment and furnishings; assist with preparing space change requests, maintaining library space inventory, tracking facilities-related expenses, developing and implementing metrics to measure/manage the effectiveness of library facilities. Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, three years' direct/related experience, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, facility with Microsoft Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new software as needed. Must be able to manage and prioritize competing demands and deadlines, document and manage complex logistics projects, research and explore facilities-related issues/products, negotiate with multiple stakeholders, and collaborate and work successfully across organizational boundaries and with a diverse community. The role requires on-call status for emergencies in library spaces and occasional early morning work hours for consults or to provide contractor access (no earlier than 8:00 A.M). Job #18213-8
