Develop, coordinate, and administer activities of the Texas Dental Association’s (TDA) political action committees.
Work with the Director of Public Affairs and Senior Policy Manager to support the policy initiatives and activities of the TDA in the legislative and regulatory arenas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Administer day-to-day activities of TDA’s political action committees.
Initiate and respond to communications to and from members, component societies, and legislative campaigns.
Develop and coordinate fundraising and awareness efforts, grassroots activities, member action alerts, and promotional materials.
Process contributions and expenditures and prepare and file reports to the Texas Ethics Commission.
Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of various public health laws, regulations, programs, and policies (Texas Ethics Commission, Texas Dental Practice Act, Medicaid, CHIP, State Board of Dental Examiners, dental insurance, etc.).
Research and compile data and provide oral and written analysis to support decision-making.
Coordinate and administer board meetings, training sessions, and conference calls.
Coordinate and administer TDA pro-fluoride action efforts.
Assist with meeting preparations and other administrative tasks as needed/directed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experience: Three-plus years relevant experience including legislative/regulatory, policy, and fundraising/campaign work.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Texas Ethics Commission software/reporting skills required. Political Action Committee software experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Excellent fundraising, event planning and project management skills. Knowledge of Texas legislative process and codes and laws relating to political action committees. Effective presentation skills, professional demeanor and ability to work in a team environment required.
