Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Campaign Manager’s primary responsibility will be to manage day-to-day campaign activities, including maintaining contact with the campaign’s key volunteers who have accepted campaign tasks, and helping to assure campaign momentum by providing high quality and thorough staff support. While reporting to the Executive Director, the Campaign Manager will work in close consultation with the Development Director.
Provide all appropriate staff support to assure success of Capital Campaign. Includes committee meeting scheduling, preparing agendas, and drafting pre-meeting materials for review (such as case materials, solicitation training materials, prospect tracking documents, etc.) as well as preparing post-Campaign Committee meeting materials (including summary notes, prospect tracking document updates, correspondence, etc.).
Maintain consistent contact with Campaign Committee volunteer leaders to provide all appropriate support for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship meetings (including scheduling meetings, confirming meetings, drafting appropriate follow-up correspondence to meetings, etc.)
Assure that all appropriate campaign data is correctly entered into the campaign database and is accessible for reporting and tracking. This includes timely entry and reporting.
Update monthly Campaign Progress Reports and distribute these to appropriate volunteers and staff.
Maintain and continually update Campaign Prospect Tracking Reports.
Plan and manage efforts to facilitate identifying, qualifying and building relationships with prospects, including prospect identification activities and drafting background prospect research reports (or overseeing prospect research, when possible), via internet research and via personal contacts with those who can provide background data on prospects’ interests and propensities.
Based on prospect research, work with volunteers and staff in developing strategic “next moves” and documenting such.
Prepare campaign requests for support, including letter proposals, formal proposals, other appropriate follow-up correspondence and acknowledgments.
In a timely fashion, draft and process pledge commitments and acknowledgement letters.
Participate, when appropriate, in cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
Assist with planning and implementing campaign special events.
Assist in planning and implementing campaign recognition activities.
Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum two years experience in project management, fundraising or related experience.
Knowledge of successful fundraising strategies and programs.
Very strong organizational skills.
Proven persuasive communication skills; excellent reading, writing, editing and research abilities; excellent verbal communication.
Demonstrated initiative, discipline, and ability to perform under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; and familiarity with fundraising software.
