The College of Continuing Studies offers access to Bridgewater State University by providing pathways to degrees and credentials for post-traditional students. This position provides administrative support to the College of Continuing Studies including but not limited to the areas of recruitment and admissions, marketing, non-credit programs, and the dean's office. This is an outward facing position which requires regular professional interaction with potential and current students, community members, and faculty through multiple communication channels. Direct supervision will be provided by the assistant to the dean.
This is an AFSCME position and subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm (Subject to Change) Saturday and Sunday as days off
-Monitoring and responding to assigned office communication channels including, phone, live chat, and email. -Assist with the development and implementation of non-credit courses and programs. -Assist with the processing of non-credit student accounts, registrations, and payment. -Assist with the process of developing and producing marketing materials, including proof reading. -Update web-pages and social media accounts as directed. -Support recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives. -Schedule meetings as assigned.
-Ability to write concisely, to express thoughts clearly and to develop ideas in logical sequence. -Ability to communicate effectively in oral expression. -Ability to deal tactfully with others. -Ability to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner. -Knowledge of the methods of general report writing. -Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures. -Ability to maintain accurate records.
-Experience working with post-tradition students. -Proficiency with MS Office and the Adobe Creative Suite. -Experience with Banner and the InfoBear system. -Ability to learn and use new software products and digital tools. -Working knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and communications. -Experience working in an institution of higher education.
