The Design Program Manager plays a key role in supporting Keller’s design/design thinking activities. The Design Program Manager will direct the Tiger Challenge, a program in which students tackle complex societal issues in partnership with community partners and advisors. All teams in the Tiger Challenge use design thinking, a methodology that unlocks empathy, creativity, and collaboration. The Design Program Manager will lead and direct the 10-week immersive Tiger Challenge summer experience by building upon the existing curriculum. Additionally, the design program manager will serve as point of contact and support Tiger Challenge student teams throughout the year. The incumbent in this role will serve as a point of contact to other campus partners interested in learning more about design thinking and may support this interest through collaborative work or workshops etc. The Design program manager will be responsible for the visioning, execution and administration of these initiatives.
The ideal candidate would combine design thinking expertise with empathy, expert communication skills, curiosity, creativity and experience working with diverse populations ranging from students, faculty, to campus and community partners. The candidate in this role will need to build on the tremendous legacy of the Tiger Challenge program to date and move it into its next phase of growth.

Tiger Challenge Summer Immersive Experience
Pre-summer: Identify societal challenges for student teams; identify and recruit student teams; build relationship with community and governmental expert partners; recruit advisors; identify success metrics.
During summer: Run the immersive summer experience by designing and facilitating design thinking workshops; provide coaching to teams; work with community and governmental partners and advisors; create collaborative environment.
Post summer: Review program assessments; suggest opportunities for further strengthening program.
Administratively supports all aspects of the program.
Tiger Challenge Academic Year Support for Tiger Challenge Teams
Serve as ongoing point of contact to Tiger Challenge teams during the academic year.
Support the design efforts of Tiger Challenge teams through coaching, building connections, access to resources
Design Thinking Point of contact for broader campus community
Serve as the point of contact for other entities/partners on campus eager to learn more about design thinking.
Support these aims through collaborations/ workshops etc.
Engage actively with other departments/ centers on campus eager to partner with Tiger Challenge students.
Manage Tiger Challenge Associates
Guide group of undergraduate and graduate students eager to support the Tiger Challenge activities
Bachelor's degree with 4 - 6 years related work experience
Professional experience with design/design thinking.
Human centered focus, empathy.
Expert communication and community/ cohort building skills.
Ability to interact with constituents at all levels. Expert communicator and bridge builder.
Excellent communication (oral and written) and collaboration skills. Able to build and maintain relationships with others, build trust and to collaborate most effectively.
Curiosity/creativity and divergent thinking.
Proven track record of being highly motivated, entrepreneurial, self-starter, flexible and quick learner who can work with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational, expert project management skills and ability to set priorities and juggle competing demands.
Ability to map out an educational and operational plan for a complex program and define associated success metrics and assessment mechanisms.
