The Department of Arts, Languages and Philosophy at Missouri University of Science and Technology invites applications for an associate or full professor of French with an established scholarly record to begin in August 2020. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar who is able to teach undergraduate French courses at all levels, and in particular, French for engineering, French for business, and culture courses. Secondary teaching fields could include but are not limited to history, political science, linguistics, film studies, intercultural communication, or digital humanities. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will take a leadership role in the growth of our experiential and international educational opportunities for students of French, maintain an active research program, engage in the life of our diverse department, and participate in service to the university and profession.

Native or near-native proficiency in French and English, a PhD in French or a closely related field, a record of sustained scholarly activity, evidence of successful college-level teaching, and experience integrating current technologies into courses. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate evidence of previous leadership experience.
A record of excellence in college-level teaching, experience teaching French for engineering, and fluency in another world language. We particularly welcome applications from candidates interested in collaborating across disciplinary boundaries and in participating in Missouri S&T's Center for Science, Technology, and Society.
