Creative Communications is a multiple-unit department engaged in the planning, design, creation, distribution and development of communications products. The department generates more than $10 million is self-sustaining revenues annually and administers an appropriated annual budget of more than $2.5 million and has 74 full-time employees and 20 part-time employees, including Interns and Student Assistants.Creative Communications has an outstanding opportunity for a Copy Center Equipment Operator 3. RESPONSIBILITIES:Under the supervision of the Program Support Supervisor, this position works in a dynamic customer focused team that serves University of Washington departments with their print production needs. Under the policies and procedures of Copy Services, this position will have a variety of responsibilities, including operating a variety of equipment such as high speed digital copiers/printers, envelope printers, MICR printers and wide format poster printers, and small bindery equipment. Work with PCs; manipulate files using a variety of software; work with clients and production coordinators regarding these files. Assist supervisor in maintaining inventory, restocking supplies in center and completing appropriate paperwork. May assist in leading and training student/hourly employees. This position requires the ability to work with a variety of people and to work under pressure while maintaining a positive service attitude.The work hours for this position is 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.Incumbent may be called upon to work overtime during peak work periods.Responsibilities:*Operate networked digital high-speed black and white equipment*Operate a digital color copier*Operate wide format/poster printers*Mount and laminate large format output*Work with files from the FTP site, e-mail, or customer files*Work to educate client on best method for transferring files*Will be required to run complex and complicated jobs, in addition to routine requests*Operate small bindery equipment, including coil, comb and tape binders, laminators, cutters and small folders*May lead the work of others*May perform other duties as neededSupervision Received:Supervised by the Copy Center Supervisor.As a UW employee, you will enjoy generous benefits and work/life programs.
