The Advancement Communications Coordinator coordinates the Symphony’s fundraising and stewardship communications program. S/he will be the Advancement Department’s link to the Marketing team, responsible for adhering to the existing Advancement cultivation and stewardship programs. Effective implementation of this strategy will keep current and prospective donors alike abreast of ongoing and upcoming donor-specific information.
A successful candidate will have a friendly, customer-focused, responsive attitude with a passion for facilitating personal connections to symphonic music for patrons of all ages. A gracious and patient communication style in a fast-paced environment is a must. The ability to plan, track progress, analyze outcomes, and quickly respond to behavior trends are critical to this position.
Create a series of broad-base fundraising communications that include solicitation of membership renewals, special campaign giving, stewardship and box office campaigns through a combination of direct mail, online, subscription ask, personal solicitation and phone-based mediums.
Support an organization-wide patron loyalty strategy that provides patron segments with personalized experiences that inspire greater investment, bringing special focus and analysis of annual giving segments of the pipeline.
Lead department-wide strategy to steward current donors by encouraging concert attendance, benefits usage and participation, providing impact updates, and regular institutional communications that bring donors closer to the organization. Work with the Marketing team to prepare a regular calendar of email, social media and post regarding member benefits, events, and impact stories.
Work with the Advancement Events coordinator to develop a series of cultivation and stewardship events, also seeking opportunities for donor engagement at concerts.
Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to facilitate best practices in online giving.
Staff concert receptions and events as needed to connect with members.
At least 1 year of experience in fundraising or marketing communications
Understanding of online marketing communications, including various email platforms
Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Must have a positive attitude, be able to work as part of a high-functioning team, possess an interest in advancing performing arts in the community
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Diplomacy in handling sensitive and confidential information
Strong computer skills with proven proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel
Ability to work some nights and weekends at Symphony events
