The Film and Digital Media Department [http://film.ucsc.edu/] at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time Lecturers who may be appointed to teach two or five unit courses aimed at providing insight and/or instruction relevant to various professions and processes in the film and television industry (e.g., FILM 10 or similar course - view courses at https://goo.gl/wTyypD).
Applicants with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
Master's degree or higher (or equivalent foreign degree) in film, digital media, art, television, new media, social documentation, or a similar creative practice or critical studies field at the time of application.
We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching.
ACADEMIC TITLE Lecturer
SALARY Commensurate with qualifications and experience and the particular courses the Lecturer is appointed to teach. Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.
Minimum $2,875 per 2-unit course or minimum $7,188 per 5-unit course during the academic year (based on the annual salary $57,509 listed in the 2018-19 salary scales). The campus operates on a schedule of three eleven-week quarters per academic year. A full time appointment is based upon an eight-course equivalency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated experience working in the film and television industry.
POSITION AVAILABLE Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters).
