Serves as an Instructional Design Tech for The College of Engineering (CoE) at The Ohio State University has an by contributing to creating learning opportunities consistent with the College’s strategic plan for providing a world-class undergraduate engineering and architecture education; works on a collaborative team alongside instructional designers and other technologists to support faculty in integrating high-quality, instructionally effective, consistent, accessible course materials and technologies through their course offerings in an effort to enhance the student experience; provides consultation and production of artifacts in core learning technology tools (LMS, videoconferencing), interactive eLearning objects, basic HTML and e-book formatting, and multimedia (video and digital images), all while utilizing backward design, learning theory, principles of college teaching, and consistent project management to support course design and development as part of an agile, high-performing team; assists with researching technologies and pedagogical approaches that support technology-enhanced learning and engage in professional development opportunities in learning theory and eLearning development to bolster instructional design and eLearning artifact development; engages with other campus partners focused on educational technology to share and collaborate on resources and best practices.

Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information science, instructional design, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1-3 years professional experience in a higher educational institution in instructional design, learning technology, and faculty support; experience with eLearning technologies (LMS, videoconferencing, Lectora, SoftChalk); experience designing, developing, & evaluating online course websites, learning objects & modules; ability to manage projects; ability to work across academic content areas, technologies, software, & tools; possess basic technology skills (HTML, iMovie, PowerPoint); skill in accessibility of online courses; ability to plan and execute projects and multiple priorities; experience with copyright and accessibility considerations; ability to provide high quality, detail oriented, effective communication, and customer service skills in a higher education setting.
Master's degree in computer and information science, instructional design, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience; theoretical & applied experience with learning theory (e.g., multimedia principles, research on motivation and attention) and backward design (e.g. Understanding by Design, ADDIE) to connect solutions to curricular goals, while utilizing experience applying a set of recognized standards (e.g., Quality Matters or Online Learning Consortium); experience teaching online courses.
Target Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 Annually
