Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for a Purchasing and Inventory Specialist Senior to join the Support Services Department within ITS.
This position will assist in managing the daily operations related to inventory and non-inventory management including purchasing, receiving, supplier returns, PCard purchases, inter-store transfers as well as collaborating with store personnel to research inventory matters. This position reports to the Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT (95%)
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stockroom, including the management of inventory, product purchasing, receiving, and inter-store transfers
Answer routine questions for staff and customers regarding inventory, availability, supplies in stock and orders pending. Responsible for researching inventory discrepancies and communicating findings with management. Performs reconciliation to correct discrepancies
Responsible for the preparation of purchase orders and submittal of purchase edit requests as necessary, including the maintenance of paper files.
Review for accuracy and process all marketsite carts as assigned for office supplies, repair lab supplies, etc. Maintain office supplies and submit all office supply orders via ITS iOffice or other suppliers as needed
Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders. Compare bills of lading, invoices, and packing slips to verify accuracy of materials received vs. ordered. Track all supplier orders and update ETA’s report daily
Assist with preparation for and act as main departmental liaison for bi-annual physical inventory
Responsible for creating and tracking inventory returns to suppliers. Run inventory movement reports to serve as back-up documentation for supplier return authorization request justification and“issuing out” supplier returns once items have been picked up by courier via inventory management system.
Responsible for the organization and maintenance of all inventory storage and stock areas, including bins, product signage, demo boxes and etc.
Act as Computer Showcase liaison for courier service provider used for inter-store transfers
Oversee paper, cardboard and battery recycling
Responsible for coordinating digitizing of aged inventory related documents on an annual basis
Communicate product updates, changes, and delivery expectations
Participate in continuous process improvement efforts
DEVELOPMENT OF SELF AND OTHERS (5%)
Responsible for maintaining and updating knowledge of Computer Showcase inventory management policies and procedures. This can include: on-the-job training, attending technical courses or conferences, reading, research, and testing. Develops and follows best practices and procedures and share knowledge with team members.
Demonstrates skill development by actively participating in growth opportunities for continuous development and improvement and applying new skills/knowledge to the job as evident by the ability to efficiently and effectively perform assigned duties, resulting in meeting or exceeding customer expectations and performance metrics. Training student stock keepers upon process refreshes and procedural changes.
Demonstrates effective communication skills when providing training and mentoring to less experienced staff, resulting in staff and teams using and implementing the latest policies, procedures, and best practices to accomplish tasks. Provides guidance and training student stock keepers.
