This position is responsible for the selection, configuration, management, maintenance, and De- provisioning of technology at Bay State College. It manages the Human resources at the college that work with systems, networks, equipment, software, code, data, and business process. The position also directs the strategy regarding technology at the college, working with the business units to best use it to create efficiency and strategic advantage.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures organizational effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Implement technology solutions to support collegiate initiatives.
Ensures the stability of the CTS team in order to support efficiency and growth initiatives
Coordinates project resources and timetables with user departments and outsourced vendor relationships.
Verifies technology solution efficacy by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Maintains a highly secure environment following industry best practices.
Recommends technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; prepares and enforces an annual budget; schedules expenditures; analyzes variances.
Accomplishes CTS staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Preserves assets and collegiate operations by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures as well as information security and change control procedures.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
General Education & Experience:
Master’s Degree preferred with experience and leadership important attributes to be evaluated.
Five plus years leading a high-performance team delivering rapid, high-quality technology tools and support.
Focus on student/customer service, employee enablement, and continuous process improvement.
Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
Experience managing multiple, simultaneous, significant projects and initiatives.
Expertise in managing Cloud-based IT services, Windows system administration (client and server):
Physical Requirements: Lightwork. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Stooping. Bending body downward and forward.
Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evening, overnight, and weekend hours.
Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. May require travel to other locations occasionally.
