Provides advanced, high level administrative management and support to the Dean of the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science (ECS).
The Assistant to the Dean supports the School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) by performing high level administrative duties that require a thorough understanding of the functions, programs, and policies of UT Dallas. A successful candidate will be organized and detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, poised and professional at all times in representing the Dean, and able to work in a fast-paced environment that often includes shifting priorities. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion. Must have a high level of organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree and eight years of office administration experience including four years as an Administrative Assistant II or the equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience. Excellent oral and written skills. Ability to interact with all levels of administration, business and students. Computer software skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Intermediate or advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and shared document platform (i.e, Box).
Expertise in navigating institutional data sites, web pages, organizational relationships, and campus facilities.
Experience performing complex administrative functions in a college/university.
Project management experience strongly desired. Experience coordinating business meetings and travel arrangements. Experience preparing and editing correspondence.
