The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Temporary Information Associate for its Endodontic Division to join the patient care team. Endodontic Division faculty, dental students and staff are specially trained in the use of advanced technologies, such as digital imaging, cone beam computed tomography, and operating microscopes for diagnosing and treating oral and facial pain, and problems associated with the inside of the tooth. The college's Administrative Manager for Endodontics is an important function in the health care delivery system in the College.

Serves as front-line patient service representative for the Graduate Endodontics Clinic within the College of Dentistry; greets patients; checks in/out patients; registers patients by entering data into axiUm; schedules patient appointments; manages patient EHR; explains clinic policies and fees in person or via telephone; input referrals into axiUm; manages letter notification to referring dentist when treatment is complete; prepares patient recall postcards; safeguards patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines; performs clinic opening and closing tasks and routine activities including creating registration form packets, scans patient identification, and insurance information into axiUm; performs other duties as assigned; works independently and under minimal supervision
Monday-Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

One year of experience (1000 hours of course work or training) in customer service or communications, including analyzing and interpreting information; six months of experience (600 hours of training) in operation of computer and related peripheral equipment; three months of experience (300 hours of course work) in information research and analysis.
Front-line customer service experience, preferably in a medical/dental setting; Microsoft Office experience; knowledge of infection control standards; knowledge of HIPAA practices; axiUm experience.
