Project Coordinator, Research Data Collaborations Program-2014266
Carnegie Mellon University Libraries is seeking a motivated individual as Project Coordinator to facilitate the new Research Data Collaborations Program. The goal of the program is to engage various collaborators in the research data ecosystem and to facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations around research data.
As a service oriented individual who is passionate about helping the research community and using data for social good, you will be working in a collaborative environment and interact with a wide range of partners, including librarians, researchers from across disciplines, students, and other units on campus. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology and is interested in learning new software tools. Great communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills are essential to the success of the job.
This position is part-time fixed-term and is funded for one year. Scheduled hours are approximately 17.5 hours per week.
Your primary responsibilities include:
As an integral part of the program team, provide assistance to coordinate program activities, including annual conferences, monthly office hours, project meetings and workshops;
Maintain program websites and draft communications with library personnel and external partners;
Facilitate project documentation in digital forms (e.g. spreadsheets, databases, content management systems);
Administer surveys to collect feedback and analyze survey results;
Attend essential project meetings and maintain a good understanding of the program's goal and progress.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in STEM areas preferred;
Basic understanding of academic research environment required. Prior research experience preferred, ideally with knowledge in research methodologies, open science, and data reuse;
Previous project management experience is a plus;
Experience with website design using CMS' such as WordPress or Drupal preferred. Programming and data science experience preferred
Great organizational skills and attention to detail;
