The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a full time Special Assistant to the Vice President of Health Sciences Advancement.
This position will work closely with Vice President, Health Sciences Advancement and Assistant Vice President of Advancement Operations and Strategy. This position supports the development, implementation and management of comprehensive programs that promote creative and effective acknowledgment, recognition, stewardship and engagement of donors to USC Health Sciences. This includes project management of scholarship-donor stewardship; development and project management of the first-time donor program; production of donor acknowledgment letters; and active contribution to the overall efforts of the Donor Relationship team.
Reviews VPâs portfolio to ensure strategies and timeline are on point and consistent with fundraising priorities.
Reviews VPâs calendar and activities to ensure her time is used strategically and efficiently and aligns with priorities.
Manages and coordinates special projects, including providing support in the planning, design, development and implementation of short and long-term projects. Plans, coordinates, schedules and organizes project activities to meet objectives.
Liaises with University Advancement.
Oversees preparation of briefing materials for the VP.
Coordinates and assembles confidential documentation. Ensures completeness and accuracy of documentation. Maintains confidential files.
Will directly and indirectly manage staff assigned to projects. Plans and staffs project operations based on proposed activities and timelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
This position requires an understanding of fundraising and stewardship principles, the ability to manage complex projects, strong writing and editing skills and a high level of organization, creativity, and professionalism.
5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising or related area, preferably at an institution of higher education or health care. Proven database and project management.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 3 yearsMinimum Field of Expertise: Directly related professional experience in area of program specialization.
