The Viterbi Schoolâs Admission and Student Engagement Office is seeking a Senior Assistant Director to join the undergraduate admission team.Â The admission team works closely with prospective students throughout the admission process by marketing, recruiting, evaluating and advising students in order to meet the annual enrollment goals of the Viterbi School.Â The Senior Assistant Director will help to lead new and renewed efforts in enrolling a diverse class of incoming transfer students as well as assist with all undergraduate recruitment processes.Â
The ideal candidate should be an experienced admission officer, excellent communicator (written and oral), detail oriented, organized, skilled in project management and able to work with prospective college students and their parents as well as cultivate relationships with community college transfer counselors.
Assists in the development of a new and aggressive recruitment strategy focused on transfer students from community colleges, 4-year universities, and 3+2 partner institutions.Â This will include but is not limited to helping to create new promotional materials to market the Viterbi School and the field of engineering to a variety of constituents, including transfer students.
Meets and advises applicants on admission policies and procedures.Â Evaluates applicants against admission standards of the university and the school.
Represents the Viterbi School at on and off-campus recruitment events for prospective students, including participating in college fairs, school visits, out of area admission receptions, etc.
Prepare and deliver presentations about USC and the Viterbi School for prospective students and parents at on and off-campus events.
Communicates in person, by telephone and in writing with domestic and international students on questions related to various programs offered within the school as well as on the admission process.
Manages all online and social media content for undergraduate admission with an eye toward accuracy, popular trends, and cultural relevance.
Reviews student records, maintains data, and implements various communication plans utilizing student databases.
Manages logistics for various transfer recruitment events, including school/class visits, college fairs, community organization visits and other off-campus events.Â Works with faculty, staff and alumni in coordinating various recruitment and conversion events.
Maintains currency on a wide range of University and Viterbi School policies and programs impacting students, admission, special programs and curricular issues.
Participates in a variety of functions within the Viterbi Admission and Student Engagement Office, including activities not directly associated with undergraduate admission activities.

Bachelorâs degree preferred. Strong experience in MS Office programs such as Excel/Access and web-based CRMs, social media management platforms, and WordPress as a website CMS.Â Significant experience working in undergraduate admission or transfer counseling with high school and/or transfer students and an understanding of studentsâ approaches to the college admission process. Ability to set priorities to complete assignments and related follow-up in a timely manner; to change priorities and manage a fluctuating workload.
