The Health, Emotion, & Addiction Laboratory (USC-HEAL) in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is recruiting to fill a full-time Research Nurse position. USC-HEAL is an interdisciplinary group of 25 members including five faculty investigators, data collection staff, and trainees who pursue education and research dedicated to understanding and preventing addiction, mental illness, and chronic disease in vulnerable populations. The Research Nurse will work closely with the Project Manager and other USC-HEAL team members to aid and coordinate data collection for several NIH-funded human biobehavioral research studies on the causes and treatment of cigarette addiction and e-cigarette vaping. This position requires recruitment of research participants, screening, and coordinating/scheduling and executing protocols for study visits with participants and patients. Previous experience with studies involving the use of investigational drugs is preferred but
not required. The Research Nurse will collect biospecimen samples, including blood draws, and perform medical evaluations for participant safety. The ideal candidate will have experience recording and reporting adverse events, submitting applications and documents to regulatory agencies and the USC IRB,

The ideal candidate possesses previous experience working in clinical trials.
The position is full time and requires 5 days/wk attendance at our facilities at the USC Health Sciences Campus in Los Angeles, CA.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 1 yearMinimum Field of Expertise: Registered Nurse, California Registered Nurse license, current CPR certification, and clinical experience or clinical research experience. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients and their families, other medical staff and administrative personnel.
