PROGRAM COORDINATOR , Mechanical Engineering , to implement effective strategies for administering programs for the Center of Excellence in Energy (COE-E), a research program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Will coordinate activities around the development of education, research, and entrepreneurial collaborations between the MIT community and partner universities in Egypt; manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including correspondence and coordinating and organizing center activities, events, and projects; promote positive internal and external relationships on behalf of the center and work with others to identify common areas of interest and opportunities to collaborate, disseminate information, and facilitate research activities; represent the center to MIT and external stakeholders; manage program budgets; maintain financial systems; and review vendor quotes and make purchasing decisions.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in management, finance, international studies, social sciences, or related field; at least two years' experience in program/project management, finance and operations, or related area; experience planning events; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs and Dropbox and online meeting hosting; ability to network and cultivate partnerships; excellent organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to set and prioritize objectives and goals, leverage resources and control costs, and function both independently and as part of a team; and strong team-building skills. Experience with MIT and/or USAID financial reporting processes desirable. Academic administration or international management experience preferred. Job #18180-6
