The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS), and the Prairie Research Institute (PRI) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is seeking a Curator, who will be responsible for the ISAS’s Midwest Archaeological collections. This position will be responsible for facilitating access to collections and data for ISAS archaeologists and oversee the organization, processing, documentation, care/conservation, and storage of accessioned materials, including written documents and digital data. The Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS), established in February 1, 2010, as one of the State Scientific Surveys of the Prairie Research Institute, is the product of a nearly century long concern by the University of Illinois to ensure the preservation and interpretation of the state's important archaeological resources. ISAS employs 40+ staff members who are engaged in archaeological research throughout the state of Illinois. There are six regional offices. Central Offices are located on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign, IL. Five regional Field Stations are in Elgin, Fairview Heights, Jacksonville, Macomb and Springfield, IL.
