Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management
Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for an Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management to be responsible for coordinating the College’s enrollment/admissions, financial aid and student success functions including strategic planning, recruitment, operational management, and administrative oversight. The Associate Vice President (AVP) leads the campus-wide effort to improve institutional practices in ways that positively lead to increased student satisfaction. Using institutional, national and student datasets, the AVP will champion the College’s Student Success Plan to consistently meet retention and completion goals. Working closely with the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, the AVP will collaborate to ensure that student life activities are tied to retention and completion efforts as noted in the plan. The Associate Vice President will work closely with the Marketing and Communications unit of the college to ensure that messages from recruitment through the student experience are integrated, planned and executed in a timely and cost effective manner. Strategic planning and institutional research will inform these activities.

Primary responsibilities include:
Works cooperatively with the Senior Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment Management and other senior staff, faculty, and administrators in supporting enrollment, retention and completion strategies; Supervises and directs the units of Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Operations; Oversees the Center for Student Success that includes Success Coaching, Financial Aid and Student Accounts; Implements and oversees the rollout of the Student Success Plan; Provides leadership for endowed scholarship funds management, ensures NCAA compliance as it pertains to financial aid and scholarships, ensures timely and accurate financial aid leveraging practices are implemented and followed; Works with the Marketing & Communications staff, and others to develop an integrated marketing message, which captures the distinctive values of the Utica College experience; Responsible for the effective coordination, reporting and compliance of all state, federal and institutional programs administered through the student financial services area; Responsible for collecting and compiling statistical information on financial aid expenditures, etc. for surveys and reports; Responsible for approving the office expenditures and monitoring the office budgets; Responsible for the successful coordination, collaboration and communication with various campus offices as well as any outside entities such as CICU, HESC, legal counsel and auditors in regards to student and college matters; Responsible for and oversees the implementation and training of federal, state, and institutional policies as well as Banner modules for the Center for Student Success, Admissions units and Enrollment Operations; Counseling with students and parents as needed and for those who raise to the level of the President and/or Senior Vice President; Represents Utica College to outside entities such as state agencies, lenders, other institutions and professional associations; Attends and speaks as needed at campus events including Open House programs, Orientation, transfer day, Summer Preview Days, accepted Student Days, Saturday visits, high school break weeks and junior open house events, and other promotional events; Works to encourage parents and alumni to take an active interest in the College experience; Represents the College at school visits and admissions receptions and speaks at professional associations and civic gatherings. Establishes effective outreach to corporate community to assess need for and help build employee talent pool that meets industry demand; Monitors admissions, recruitment, financial aid policies and practices to insure that the highest ethical standards are maintained; Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership. Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success; Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators; This position requires some travel. Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (as defined by College insurance carrier guidelines); Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President for Student Life & Enrollment Management.
Have attained a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with 7 – 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of admissions, financial aid and/or enrollment management. Master’s degree preferred.
