Senior Program Manager, Center for Global Health and Quality Georgetown University Medical Center
The mission of Georgetown University's Center for Global Health and Quality (GHQ) is to support and empower key actors in countries to drive, build, and own sustainable systems. GHQ works with partners to respond to today's health challenges and bring quality services to scale while maximizing resources and achieve the greatest possible impact. Particular focus is to support countries to achieve the end of devastating epidemics including HIV and also to build effective, resilient, and sustainable systems to respond rapidly to emerging threats.
The Senior Program Manager is a member of an interdisciplinary team working across various projects in GHQ's research portfolio, and provides project management and research support on externally funded grants, to the faculty and staff of GHQ. These include topics such as infectious disease prevention (HIV, TB, and malaria) and global health advocacy. The Senior Program Manager has duties that include, but are not limited to:
Program Management and Support
Oversees and ensures timely and effective implementation of programmatic activities.
Works with relevant GHQ and university partners to ensure alignment with budgeted activities.
Plans site visits and technical meetings in collaboration with international partners.
Coordinates team planning for international travel and events.
Helps ensure that daily, short-term, and long-term project activities, priorities, and deadlines are being met.
Maintains electronic files and databases on relevant topics.
Prepares all progress and final reports to donor and university partners.
Provides supervision to student research assistants on GHQ projects.
Works with senior research staff, project partners, and affiliates on project or center-related publications.
Prepares technical literature reviews, memoranda, and writes summary analyses.
Contributes to development of quantitative and qualitative research protocols.
Responds to analytical inquiries from senior project and research personnel.
As necessary, provides research, technical/drafting assistance with grant development for various donors.
Manages development of research reports and project summaries (including charts, tables, maps, and graphs).
Assembles and formats data for presentation to internal and external audiences.
Participates in national and international meetings.
Develops research reports, white papers, and project summaries for internal and external audiences.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a project manager on complex projects, which includes engagement with a diversity of stakeholders and managing a range of deliverables/deadlines
Proficiency in developing, executing, and implementing research protocols (quantitative and/or qualitative)
MPH or other advanced degree strongly preferred (e.g., PhD, MD)
Expertise in infectious disease, HIV, or global health preferred
Excellent/superior research and writing skills
Proficiency in all health research databases and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Experience managing project teams
Detail orientation, the ability to multi-task, and a "get it done" approach
Availability and willingness to travel internationally
Sensitivity to confidential materials
Experience working with international technical partners or in an international setting
Familiarity with global health financing and diplomacy
Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and tools
